Paul Witteveen
Senior counsel
After nearly fifty years working as a lawyer, I am continuing my collaboration with Boontje as senior counsel. This gives me the opportunity to focus entirely on the role of trusted advisor. I have stopped litigating. I focus in particular on what is known as corporate employment law. This centres on employment law issues relating to management and decision-making within companies. This includes, for example, issues concerning disrupted relations between the management/director and the supervisory body (Supervisory Board) within the company, management conflicts, employee participation processes, and matters concerning the impact of restructuring, mergers and acquisitions on employment law relations within the company. The extensive experience I have gained in all these different areas continues to prove to be an enormous source of added value in my advisory work. My experience in recent years has shown that applying and utilising my knowledge of “how things work” in practice is also of great value in getting to the heart of a matter more quickly and rapidly identifying effective scenarios for solutions. And it still gives me a thrill when my input then leads to a good result.
Paul has worked as a lawyer for almost fifty years. He is an “old hand with grey hair”, but with a fresh and sparkling mind. He mostly represents companies (boards of directors/supervisory boards), but also regularly acts on behalf of directors and other senior executives. Paul has also been doing a great deal of work in the field of employee participation for many years. He has a good understanding of the dynamics of corporate governance processes. He quickly analyses complicated situations and has a good sense of interpersonal relationships. He has proven himself capable of helping individuals and businesses find sustainable solutions to difficult legal issues.
